In honor of the first full day of legally equivalent gay marriage in California (and my two newly-married friends!), I'd like to recommend/remind you of taffetablue's A Supermarket in California. If there were ever two men who need to get married ASAP, it's John and Rodney, and taffetablue's John and Rodney are particularly dear.

Anyone else have any marriage-fic recs?

Also, from an LA Times' photo essay on one couple's impending nuptials, this quote:

Paul Waters and his partner Kevin Voecks look through a wedding cake photo album at Vienna Bakery in Thousand Oaks. The couple settled on a cake that resembled a tuxedo. They will also have a second cake made entirely of cheese.

Apparently the "cake made entirely of cheese" thing means you get a mutli-tiered cake with a different wheel of cheese for each level (http://www.flickr.com/photos/greenkermit/306461866/in/set-72157594392383136/). I don't know what I was thinking it was going to be, but I like it!

Did you see the Express this morning? With the two guys in the bowler hats holding hands? So sweet!

Aw, I missed the guys with the bowler hats! :( I was too bleary-eyed to bother with a paper this morning.

This article is from my hometown, though. It's much quieter than all the national news stories, but it's still nice. A bunch of clergy people waited outside the courthouse to give roses to new licensees. :)

Ha, and then with today's Express, my first thought upon seeing two be-suited men, one with his hand around the other's arm, was, "Aw, another happy couple!" But then I realized that the guy on the right didn't have his chest puffed out in pride over his smokin' new husband, but rather because he was being frog-marched out of his Bear-Stearns office following a federal investigation. Ooops!

(Still, they would have made a lovely couple, and what's more star-crossed than federal agent/massive embezzler? I smell EPIC ROMANCE.)
