De Re Coquinaria Pegasi

Got a hankerin' for some Ruus wine or lemon (death) bars? Curious to see what Earth-equivalent ingredients tava bean and tuttleroot soup might include? Dying to know how to make a proper Salisbury steak?

Then check out De Re Coquinaria Pegasi, the extensive Pegasus galaxy/Atlantis Expedition cookbook, assembled by [livejournal.com profile] winkingstar and contributions from her minions. The cookbook contains dozens of recipes (including drinks, sides & salads, main dishes, and desserts), as well as photos, captions, and recipe-inspired fic (all gen or Teyla/Kanaan, which there needs to be more of in the world, IMO).

The above link takes you to the noticeboard post, which has links to the wiki-based online version as well as the download links for the PDF. I highly recommend looking through the PDF, which has 40+ pages of photos with captions that aren't on the wiki.

So check it out, try out some recipes, and if you've got your own ideas to contribute, we'd love to see them!

How else will people know how to microwave a TV dinner, without a detailed recipe? We are providing a valuable service! (Also, a lot of the real recipes look very very tempting -- I may have to try that apple pie now that I've spent hours looking at pictures of it. :D)

Hehheee :) It really is quite tasty! It does have a tendency to rather fall apart on me, but that's quite possibly due to the fact that I'm never willing to wait for it to cool fully. I suppose I could test this by waiting sometime, but c.f. previous comment about being unwilling :) (I do know that it is always set fully by the time I pull it out of the refrigerator). And now I'm wondering if I remembered to include this on the writeup and gaaaah. Silly Fish! It's done and published! No more spazzing! oooh, unless it's the Spazzy Cookies, those are really good!*

Oh, but fall-apart pies are wonderful! And I love recipes that are kind of different after they've been refrigerated (fall-apart v. solid pie, etc.) -- it's like getting 2 dishes for the effort of one!
