Oh, I'm right there with you in hatred for the special editions. I've got my box set VHS from 1996 (the last batch before ol' George went crazy with the CGI, and the first purchase I ever made off eBay back in high school), and of course my crappy taped-off-the-tv, all-three-on-one-tape version that my brother and I used throughout our childhood. :-)

I've also been eyeing the two-disc versions that came out last year (on Amazon: IV (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Widescreen/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1207357106&sr=1-4), V (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-Versions-Widescreen/dp/B000FQJAJG/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1207357106&sr=1-7), and VI (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-VI-Widescreen/dp/B000FQVX78/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1207357106&sr=1-6)), since they come with the original releases and the special editions (or, the originals and three shiny coasters). It'd be nice to find a box set of all 3 (+coasters) together, though.
