First Monday in October

Happy First Monday, everyone! The U.S. Supreme Court is back in session, clerks are slaving over briefs, and I'm particularly interested in the FCC v. FOX case that's going to oral argument on Nov. 4th. (Why yes, that's Election Day. The sheer idiocy of not making Election Day a national holiday is a rant for another time. Briefly: so
stupid! How are people supposed to have time to vote?)

JFlan Julian Lodge with (fake) Chief Justice Brankin. When being a clerk for one of the regular justices just won't do.

Fighting for truth, justice, and a really good line item on your resumé!

Julian wants to do dirty things to you behind that flag. Patriotism + bowties = HOTT!

I ran out of First Monday pics, so have some other young JFlan (here, with sad, trembling lower lip action!).

And in this one, I like to think this is a young John getting ready to rebel against his oppressive jackass of a father. Until UPS destroys everything he has ever loved, at which point he will let his dad hook him up with a recovering heroin addict.

For more clerky JFlan goodness, Abydos Gate has a bunch of screencaps, and the awesome [livejournal.com profile] gaffsie has uploaded the JFlan bits of each episode.

Happy First Monday! May the uptight, kiss-ass, justice-seeking spirit of Julian Lodge be with you today, and every day!

Have you actually seen any of these mice in your apartment? (Or are you trying not to think about it, and I'm making that impossible? :-)

I have altered my habits to avoid the kitchen entirely at night and therefore have not seen any in action. However, Sunday morning I saw one flailing sadly in a glue trap and immediately ran away to hide in my room the rest of the day. So, yes, I am trying not to think about them because they are icky and yet I feel sad for them flailing about in the glue traps. D: (Jack puts them in the freezer to finish them off, which is the nicest method we can think of. He is calling the exterminator person tomorrow, though, because apparently we have it bad.)

So, you know, more picspams of teh pretty would be a welcome distraction. Just sayin'.

Oh, gah, glue traps + freezer = disturbing, but yeah, probably the most humane way to do it. (And Jack is a wonderful roommate.) Hope the exterminator comes quickly!

Also, your picspam wishes are my something-to-do-during-the-debate command. Enjoy! (http://propinquitine.livejournal.com/)
